System Center in the Real World

Part 1: Why System Center
This introductory session explains what the System Center family is, and the benefits of using the suite in your environment. CSS experts will discuss the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), why they are important, how they save costs, and the various System Center products that enable an ITIL compliant environment. As a part of the series, you will be introduced to a fictional business web based scenario used throughout the webinar that will be available for download.

Part 2: Virtual Machine Manager and Configuration Manager
CSS experts begin the scenario by providing an overview of Virtual Machine Manager (VMM), Self Service Portal, and Configuration Manager (SCCM). In our scenario, CSS will demonstrate using VMM to requisition several new machines and integration with Configuration Manager to deploy software to the new servers.

Part 3: Operations Manager and Orchestrator
CSS experts demonstrate how to monitor new servers including application specific information, introduce Orchestrator (formerly Opalis), explain how it fits into the System Center family, and how to best utilize the product. In our scenario, CSS will demonstrate using SCOM and Opalis to react to application events.

Part 4: Orchestrator and Full Circle
Learn how to unlock the true potential of Orchestrator.  CSS experts will demonstrate numerous ways to automate different tasks in a typical environment, as well as some helpful tricks. At the conclusion of this session we will review the content from the entire series and hold a Q & A session.
