Certified Security Solutions appoints Ted Shorter as Chief Technology Officer
Cleveland, Ohio – Certified Security Solutions, Inc (CSS), a leading provider of information security services, announces the appointment of Ted Shorter as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Shorter will be responsible for CSS’ Intellectual Property development efforts, helping align their security focus with the changing security landscape.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Ted to his new position as CTO,” said Kevin von Keyserling, President and CEO of CSS. “His comprehensive knowledge of security coupled with his familiarity of CSS, will strategically position CSS as a leading security as a service provider.”
Prior to his role as CTO, Shorter led the Identity and Access practice for CSS and served as a Principal Consultant, overseeing delivery of all engagements requiring authentication and authorization service. He provided oversight to dozens of private-sector enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) deployments, in multiple vertical markets including: Finance, Manufacturing, Aerospace, e-Commerce and Hospitality. Shorter has also consulted as a subject matter expert in large enterprise smart card deployments.
Possessing more than 20 years experience in the security arena, Shorter has worked in the fields of cryptography, application security, authentication and authorization services, as well as software vulnerability analysis. His career has led him to 10 years at the National Security Agency, a Masters Degree in Computer Science from The John Hopkins University, plus an active CISSP certification.
Additionally, as a Computer Science and Team Lead at NSA, Shorter briefed high-level government officials, including Presidential advisors and members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has also served as lead software developer on a contract with the Department of Defense to integrate Biometric authentication with the DoD Common Access Card program.
