CSS Announces CRT, an Advanced, Comprehensive Solution for Managing PKI Certificates in a Microsoft Environment
New Certificate Reporting Tool (CRT, v2.0) Prevents Downtime and Solves Labor-Intensive Certificate and CRL Management Challenges
CLEVELAND, OH – May 17, 2011. Certified Security Solutions, Inc. (CSS), a leading information security services firm and Microsoft’s World-Wide, Identity and Security Access Partner of the Year, today announced the immediate availability of CRT 2.0, a new software solution that supports both certificate and CRL management in a Microsoft® environment. Certificate management is vastly under-addressed within a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), creating a considerable challenge for organizations looking to streamline the extensive management requirements needed to avoid certificate and/or CRL expirations and significant downtime and loss of productivity.
Designed to alert the appropriate parties – in a timely fashion – of impending expiration of certificates and CRLs, CSS’ Certificate Reporting Tool (CRT) removes the frustrating task of having to manage mounting certificates. Supporting all Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) versions with an architecture that can be expanded with the development of custom connectors, CSS’ CRT offers:
- Organizational Automation: Eliminates the inefficiencies of spreadsheets and manual processes for certificate and CRL tracking. CRT keeps track of certificates such as SSL, device, iphone/ipad and other non-identity certificates in one, easy-to-use interface, which prevents confusion regarding what has been, or should be renewed.
- Reliable Safety Nets: Provides ample notifications so IT professionals are alerted to when certificates and CRLs are due to expire to ensure that certificates and CRL expirations are not forgotten or overlooked.
- Robust Reporting: Customizable CRT notifications and reports allow organizations to meet their specific needs and operate in a manner suitable for their environment.
- Support of Mobile Devices: Allows organizations to manage digital certificate management with newer consumer devices like iPads, iPhones, etc. through CRT.
“We have long been recognized for helping our clients mitigate risk and protect information assets through the practical application of security solutions,” said Ted Shorter, CSS’ Chief Technology Officer. “CRT expands on this commitment to our clients and reinforces our partnership with Microsoft, as we continue to develop tools that enhance Microsoft’s security stack and provide a true competitive advantage to customers.”
