Benjamin Derr is the Group Manager for the Secure Infrastructure Management team at Certified Security Solutions, Inc. (CSS). As the group manager, Ben is responsible for engagement oversight, day-to-day management of project delivery, team development and growth, and service quality.

Ben's team specializes in the following areas: Anti-Malware & Data Protection Solutions (Forefront Platform Protection, Active Directory Rights Management Services, Bitlocker & AppLocker, and general data privacy); Directory and Messaging Solutions (Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, and Office Communications Server); Platform Management Solutions (including, Microsoft System Center products (SCCM, SCOM and SCVMM), Hyper-V, Windows 7 Deployment, and Application Virtualization). In addition, Ben's team is well-versed in cross-platform software authentication systems, such as Centrify and Quest's Vintella product lines.

As Senior Consultant, Ben is a subject matter expert in systems and operations management with a specific focus in Microsoft's SCCM and SCOM product lines. Ben was also instrumental in designing and executing CSS' Active Directory Security Assessment Solution Pack, which enables our clients to proactively provide a defense-in-depth approach to their Active Directory implementations.

Ben brings over 18 years of experience in the IT field to CSS. Prior to joining CSS, Ben was on active duty with the U.S. Air Force, specializing in enterprise systems management and secure telecommunications. He was a key player in drafting the NSA's SMS 2003 Security Technical Implementation Guide, and moving the Air Force to formally adopt SMS 2003 as the mandated systems management tool across the entire service, encompassing over 1 million devices on both unclassified and classified networks.
